ToggleWhat to do before installing an elevator
In order to promote the elimination of architectural barriers and improve the accessibility conditions of residential buildings, various Autonomous Communities provide subsidies to owners and/or communities of owners of collective housing buildings that intend to install an elevator.
It is advisable that before starting any work, you find out about the subsidies of your Autonomous Community to know what documents must be submitted and what requirements must be met.
Documents to apply for a grant:
• Request the building permit.
• An expert must sign the construction documentation.
• If it is a residential building, the consent of the community of neighbors is required.
• The work must guarantee the safety of the elevator , in addition to that of the entire building.
• The safety installation requirements of the elevator must be met, such as those relating to the surface area required to install a cabin and automatic doors.
