Modernizing the elevator improves its safety and reduces its energy consumption

40% of the elevator fleet on the current market are facilities that are more than 20 years old, most of which need to be modernized to be able to meet the new ones Regulations (EN 81.2/A3, effective June 2011) and Current directives for platforms and forklifts (2006/42/EC, in force since January 2010).

In response to this market demand, solutions are being developed aimed at modernization of hydraulic lifts, such as the Conversion Kit. With this Kit, a hydraulic installation can be updated in just two hours, obtaining a more comfortable, energy-efficient and lower-consumption elevator.

Among the most notable advantages of modernising a hydraulic lift (with this Conversion Kit) are: greater safety by updating the installation according to the new safety requirements for EN 81.2 A3 and machinery directive 2006/42/EC; greater comfort thanks to the electronic technology of the NGV valve group; greater performance; and reduction of annual energy consumption.

In order to measure this energy efficiency, studies were recently carried out which concluded that, for an installation in a residential building with 5 stops (12 apartments) and an estimated traffic of 200 trips/day, measuring the hydraulic, electrical and mechanical parts, the modernization of a hydraulic installation with the conversion kit can save up to 40% in the total consumption of the elevator.

Thanks to these new solutions, such as the Conversion Kit, consisting of the NGV electronic valve group and the central cover, any hydraulic lift can be modernised quickly (in 2 hours) and easily, obtaining greater equipment performance and a significant reduction in energy consumption.
