In Alicante, the Federation of Metal Employers of the Province of Alicante (FEMPA) has launched an action plan to promote the maintenance of elevators and lifts.
The objective of the plan is to promote compliance with safety regulations among all agents involved in the safety compliance process.
Defects that can be identified in an elevator inspection
In the inspection of an elevator, the result determines whether there are any improvements to be made or whether any defects are identified. If it were the second case, these defects can be of 3 types: Minor, serious or very serious. Depending on the level of defect, the consequences could lead to:
- Minor defect: Favorable inspection; corrected before next inspection.
- Serious defect: Unfavorable inspection. Efficiency must be corrected within a maximum period of 6 months.
- Very serious defect: Unfavorable inspection. The elevator is out of service and cannot be used until the defect is corrected.
