ToggleWhat is adiprene ring
The adiprene ring is a guide ring that is placed on the lower part of the rod, which prevents the cylinder and rod from touching steel against steel . There are different ring proportions, ranging from pistons with a diameter of 50 mm to pistons with a diameter of 290 mm.
Why does the adiprene ring wear out?
When the guide ring is worn, the piston often makes a bell-like noise as it passes through the centre of the piston. Another possibility of wear to avoid is that the ring becomes detached from its housing and causes the parachute valve to operate incorrectly.
When to change the adiprene ring
To prevent this wear situation, we recommend carrying out maintenance from time to time. Changing the adiprene ring every 10 years in high-traffic installations and every 12-15 years for other installations.
