The National Geographic Institute reported a 4.4 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Granada on Sunday. In addition to Granada, an area of high seismic activity, it was also felt in four other Andalusian provinces, Almería, Jaén, Málaga and Córdoba.
This earthquake followed dozens of aftershocks of the 6.3 magnitude earthquake off Melilla early last week, which caused damage and injuries in the city of Melilla and concern in Malaga.

This news highlights the importance of elevator safety when we encounter this dangerous situation.
List of dangers in an elevator during an earthquake
The UNE-EN 81-77:2014 Part 77 standard contains a list of the most significant hazards that can be found in an elevator subject to seismic conditions. We discuss the 5 most important points:
Due to the way the machinery is distributed, the elements used for its operation and the emergency systems it includes, the hydraulic elevator avoids dangerous situations for users.
For all these reasons, it can be concluded that, in the event of an earthquake, the hydraulic elevator is much safer than the electric one.
